The first time I visited the place I was already impressed and I said that I would bring my mom here for Mother's Day celebration. The food tastes so good and the serving portion is just enough. The waitresses are polite and attentive. The ambience is nice and clean. This is my favorite Japanese restaurant in Columbia. I highly recommend the steak it is so juicy and not dry.

A place I finally got to try out with a friend after walking past it regularly on my walks around Lake Kitt. This place is definitely more "upscale/professional" which is a new experience for me! The staff was professional, well dressed, and polite, great service. The restaurant itself was also very clean and welcoming.
I asked about reservations but it wasn't necessary for a Monday afternoon.
My friend and I got pork gyoza as an appetiser (it comes with 6 pieces, we just ate 2), a tuna roll, 2 orders of salmon sushi, a Hurricane Eye Roll, 1 order of sweet shrimp sushi, and to end it off, a matcha tempura fried ice cream.
There are mini teapots on the side of the table that hold light soy sauce that I thought was very cute.
Everything was fantastic. It was also the first time I've tried something with crispy brown rice as part of the topping. The salmon pieces were generously big pieces, more like a two-bite amount, not that I'm complaining! It was delicious. The tempura fried ice cream comes in two flavors that you choose, vanilla and matcha. I chose matcha. It comes in a cold bowl with the outside of the icecream being a hot, hard and crunchy shell, and cold ice cream on the inside. It was a nice treat to end the meal.
The atmosphere is overall respectful but I would imagine being here with a group having a good time is also very welcome. There are party rooms that are kinda like kneeling rooms, or for normal sitting under the table. It'd be interesting to experience that.
I will definitely invite other friends to come by and try this place out, and definitely recommend it in general. Great time, great sushi.

Best sushi place in Columbia. It can be a bit pricey but def worth it. I recommend getting a roll of choosing and the bowl with rice and sashimi on top it’s the best bag for your buck while still delicious. (This feeds two people very well). Miso soup is also a great touch that brings the whole meal together. This is kind of a hidden menu item but for desert you HAVE to ask them for the tempura ice cream. It’s ice cream with a fried shell, however unlike the normal ice cream you’ll have only two flavors to choose from, vanilla or matcha.

We absolutely love Sushi Sono. As a vegetarian, it can sometimes be hard to find sushi places with great options, but Sushi Sono really delivers. They have a wonderful variety of vegetarian rolls and dishes (our favs are Yasai maki, avocado roll, bean curd, sweet potato rolls, tempura, edamame, seaweed salad), and everything we’ve tried has been fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. One of our favorite spots for a great meal.

Amazing sashimi. The fish was very fresh, fatty, clean smell, and buttery. I will say it was pricy and small portions but very high quality and worth it if that’s what you enjoy. The other sushi rolls are all made on the spot and done professionally. Highly recommend, beautiful atmosphere and view.
