Stopped by Uncle Julio’s in Columbia and went with the chicken quesadilla. Simple choice, but they executed it right. The chicken was seasoned well, tender, and not dry which already puts them ahead of a lot of places pretending to be Mexican-inspired. The cheese was melted perfectly, not greasy, and the tortilla had a nice crisp without falling apart halfway through.
Portion size was solid, filling without being ridiculous. Everything came out hot and fresh, and the flavors were balanced instead of salty for no reason. Service was attentive and smooth, and the atmosphere was lively without being overwhelming.
Overall, a reliable spot when you want something familiar done properly. I’d definitely come back to work my way through more of the menu.

Uncle Julio’s had average food, but the service was absolutely impeccable. The staff were attentive and our waitress Nicauris friendly from start to finish, and the lively atmosphere made the whole experience enjoyable. A great spot if you’re looking for good vibes and excellent service.

We’ve been to Uncle Julio’s about four different times now, and every single visit the tortilla maker has NOT been working. One of the main reasons we come here is for the fresh tortillas, and it’s extremely disappointing that such a big part of the experience is always “out of order.”
At this point it feels like they just don’t care to fix it. For a restaurant that promotes fresh, handmade tortillas, it’s unacceptable that it’s been broken every time we’ve come.
We keep giving this place another chance, but nothing changes. Definitely not the experience you expect from a restaurant like this. We’re really disappointed.

Everything was MID at best. Menu, Fokd & Service all could've been better. Waitress was Nice but didn't seem to known wth she was doing. Told her I'm allergic to something in Pico and to put salmon glaze on the side. Plate comes with Pico on it and extra glaze ON the salmon. Had to continually correct her, although she had a good attitude. First and LAST time visiting julios. Stick to Chidos if u want GOOD Hispanic Eats!!

First time coming to Uncle Julio's and I thought it was pretty good. Decided to go with the tacos as the toppings were slightly different than your run-of-the-mill type, and I wanted something other than your Americana enchiladas or carne asada. A shoutout to the kitchen for indulging my request to get some toasty corn tortillas instead of just heated ones, you need to have a char to them and they're so superior to flour. The barbacoa tacos were delicious and had some pickled radishes on top which just rounded it off right. The amor mojito was delicious!
Had a party of 5, and we got there about 5pm so we ended up beating the dinner rush and were able to get a table quickly and without a reservation. Our server was a super attentive gentleman, who would ensure we had what we needed without hovering. Margaritas and guac were dope too.
Quite impressed and happy that such a nice restaurant is within such close proximity to the Columbia Mall, and maintains its quality. Highly recommend coming here!!
